Many people go on cruises to celebrate a special occasion – birthdays, anniversaries, even weddings. While there may be lounge acts, dancers, or magic shows, the real “magic” is getting your cards turned by a tarot reader. These psychic workers use a deck of 72 cards, called the tarot, to determine your life’s motivations, goals, and even the future. Some consider tarot reading merely an excellent form of entertainment and partake in tarot reading for fun, while others examine their tarot reader’s advice more seriously, but everyone can agree that tarot reading is an ideal way to entertain guests in cruise ships.

Typically, the person being read will sit across from the reader and introduce themselves. The reader may or may not have the client shuffle, cut, or touch the tarot deck of cards to transfer their energy to the cards, depending on their personal reading style. Once the deck has been shuffled or cut, the tarot reader will lay the cards down in a predetermined pattern, with each position having its own special meaning – the recent past, an obstacle on the way, and so on. Each card’s meaning, as well as the meaning of the position will be relayed to the client as the reading progresses, gaining feedback so the reader can offer good advice tailored to the client. Some cards may come up as reversed, which will offer even more meanings for the reader to interpret.

Additional cards may be drawn and placed on top of others already in position in order to gain a clearer “look” at the situation being discussed. Most readers can pull cards on a specific question – “Does he love me?”, “Will I get married soon?” – for a more targeted answer in lieu of a full layout, if the client requests. Intuitive, entertaining, and usually quite empathetic, a tarot reader is a great choice for entertainment while out on a cruise ship.
